Joseph A. McVerry, 60, died Oct. 22, 2025. A graduate of Hamden High and Johnson & Wales University, he worked as Director of Dining Services and Chef at Masonicare in Wallingford and enjoyed game nights, cheering for the Boston Red Sox, and relaxing outdoors with family.
Joseph L. Farrell, 82, died Oct. 22, 2025. A U.S. Air Force veteran who served as a radar specialist during the Vietnam War, he was passionate about aviation, classic WWII planes, HAM radio, target shooting, and reading spy novels.

Amos Gallup Hewitt Jr., 81, died Oct. 23, 2025. A lifelong railroader and locomotive engineer for multiple rail lines over 37 years, he earned a business degree from Quinnipiac College and was devoted to his profession, his faith, and his enduring fascination with trains.
Michael A. Civitello, 73, died Oct. 25, 2025. A writer and humorist who contributed to National Lampoon and ghost-wrote political speeches, he later found fulfillment as a special education teacher and was among the first men to attend and graduate from Vassar College.

Kathleen Elizabeth Dinneen-Torello, 78, died Oct. 25, 2025. A longtime New Haven public school educator for over 30 years, she earned degrees from Southern Connecticut State University and Fairfield University and found joy in teaching, lifelong learning, and time with her friends and grandchildren.
Angela Frances Cimerol, 87, died Nov. 4, 2025. A dedicated first-grade teacher for 36 years at Alice Peck and West Woods Schools and a 1997 Teacher of the Year, she continued volunteering in education after retirement and supported numerous charitable causes, including endowments for St. Raphael’s Hospital.
Pasqual (Pat) R. Carangelo, 98, died Nov. 7, 2025. A U.S. Army and Navy veteran who witnessed atomic bomb testing in Nevada, he became a Certified Electronics Technician, taught electronics for over 20 years at Emmett O’Brien Technical School where he was named Teacher of the Year, and enjoyed a lifelong devotion to education and family.
Philip Costanzo, 83, died Nov. 8, 2025. Owner of The Hamden Press Printing Company for over 20 years, he was a Hamden High graduate and former football player who enjoyed coaching baseball, traveling to Las Vegas, and driving his Ford Mustang.
Linda A. Caruso, 72, died Nov. 10, 2025. A dedicated nurse who served many years at the Whitney Center, she was known for her compassion, strength, and devotion to her family.
