Robert J. Fitch, 77
The Hamden resident was well known in the local sports area, playing on city, state and New England Championship softball teams, as well as city championship basketball teams with 1st Bank.

Robert J. Fitch, 77, of Hamden, passed from this earth Dec. 14, 2012 after a 29 year battle with heart and diabetes problems.
Mr. Fitch was born in New Haven on Sept. 25, 1935 and also had lived in Branford and West Haven. He was employed at 1st Bank (Bank of America) for 27 years retiring as a loan officer and also was employed by the Knights of Saint Patrick of New Haven as a bartender for over 26 years, satisfying many peoples' thirst. Bob was voted Knight of the Year in 2001.
Mr. Fitch was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Mary Fitch of New Haven, and a son, Donald Fitch of Branford. He is survived by sons David (Marie) Fitch of Branford and Dan Fitch of Greensboro, NC, and granddaughters Kaley and Karyn Fitch of Branford.
