Thanksgiving Holiday Announcements In Hamden

Officials announce the schedule for town buildings and trash collection for the Thanksgiving holiday, starting on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

HAMDEN, CT — Town officials are reminding residents and staff of the following holiday information.

Wednesday, Nov. 27: Non-essential Town offices and buildings, including Government Center, Keefe Community Center and the Senior Center, will close at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27. All Hamden Public Library buildings will be open modified hours from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27. The Hamden Transfer Station will be open during its regularly scheduled hours, 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

Thursday, Nov. 28: Town offices and buildings, including Government Center, Keefe Community Center, the Senior Center, all Hamden Public Library buildings, and the Hamden Transfer Station, will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28 in observance of Thanksgiving Day. The library’s digital branch is available 24/7.

Friday, Nov. 29: The Hamden Transfer Station will be closed Friday, Nov. 29. The Town Clerk’s Office, the Recreation Office, the Brundage Community Library Branch and the Whitneyville Library Branch will be closed Friday, Nov. 29 and will remain closed through Sunday, Dec. 1. All other Town offices and buildings, including Miller Memorial Library, will reopen Friday, Nov. 29 at their regularly scheduled hours.

Saturday, Nov. 30: Miller Memorial Library will be open on Saturday, Nov. 30 during its regularly scheduled hours, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Hamden Transfer Station will be open on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Trash and Recycling Pick-Up Delay: Trash and recycling pick-up for Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29 will be delayed by one day due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday. The pick-up normally scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 28 will occur on Friday, Nov. 29 and so forth, culminating in Friday's pick-up taking place on Saturday.
