Tropical Storm Isaias: Downed Trees, Wires In Hamden

Officials updated the list of areas with downed trees, wires or outages in Hamden.

HAMDEN, CT — As the town continues to clean up from the damage of Tropical Storm Isaias, officials updated the list of areas with downed trees, wires or outages.

There were nearly 7,500 United Illuminating customers without power in Hamden, as of 10 a.m.

Officials remind residents to use caution when/if traveling and use 911 to report an emergency and 203-230-4011 to report downed trees/wires/outages.

Hamden police are reminding residents to call United Illuminating directly for any questions about power outages and restoration. The Hamden dispatch center does not have information related to power outage restoration times.

Police said traffic lights are not working on Dixwell Avenue and Skiff/ Connelly Parkway/ Benham/ Mather.

In an update around 10:30 a.m., Mayor Curt Balzano Leng said Mix Avenue (south of the ice rink) is fully blocked as UI works to restore power.
