‘Very Sweet’ Pitbull Abandoned By Family Needs New Home: Hamden Animal Control
The "very scared and sad" dog was found roaming in Hamden, and the animal control discovered her family moved out two weeks ago.
HAMDEN, CT — The Hamden Animal Control is hoping to find a new home for a “very sweet” Pitbull that was left behind when her family moved about two weeks ago.
The female Pitbull mix was picked up last week near Wintergreen Avenue and Main Street in Hamden, according to the animal control.
“Sadly her microchip gave us the name of the (former?) owner but when we reached out they did not return calls,” officials wrote in a post on the Hamden Animal Control’s Facebook page. “We went to their home to discover they moved out two weeks ago. She is very scared and sad. I’m sure she is missing her family. She will be up for adoption next Tuesday November 18. Let’s see if we can get her a new home for Thanksgiving! She is good with most other dogs. We are calling her ‘Sweet Potato.’”
