Burglar Snuck Into Occupied Ledyard Home Via Unlocked Window: PD
The intruder took cash from a bedroom, according to police.

LEDYARD, CT — A burglar gained entry to a local home via an unlocked window Tuesday night, while the terrified occupant called police for help.
Capt. Ken Creutz said the break-in happened Nov. 11 around 10:42 p.m. at a home on Pumpkin Hill Road.
Police received a 911 call from a resident reporting a man had broken into her home and was still inside, according to police.

Officers responded and found the man still on the property, inside the attached garage, police said.
Investigators determined the intruder took cash from a bedroom, and broke items around the house.

According to police, the man and homeowner know each other, and the intruder believed he was owed money.
Police arrested Jacob Gincastro, 21, of 76 Renee Dr., Pawcatuck, and charged him with burglary, criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny.
Gincastro was held overnight on a $50,000 cash-surety bond, and he was due to be arraigned today in Superior Court in New London.
