Ledyard Police Provide Additional Presence In Schools

LEDYARD, CT — Following a shooting at an elementary school in Texas, Ledyard police released the following statement on the department's Facebook page:

"In keeping with our close working relationship with Ledyard Public Schools, LPD will be supporting our students, teachers and staff with additional presence and patrol activity at all our schools this week and beyond. Today’s events in Uvalde, Texas are an unspeakable tragedy and our thoughts are with the impacted families, schoolmates, teachers, staff members and all first responders involved.

"If you see officers in and around our schools, please be assured we’re there to protect what’s most important.

"We appreciate all the assistance from our residents in keeping our community safe. Please continue to report any suspicious activity to us. Thanks from LPD."
