Man Charged In Ledyard DUI Crash

A man was taken into custody on DUI charges following a Sunday crash.

LEDYARD, CT — A Stonington man was arrested for driving under the influence following a single-car crash in Ledyard on Sunday, according to police. Derrick Latham, 24, of 265 Montauk Ave., was charged with DUI, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and failure to drive right.

Ledyard police were called to Shewville following reports for a one-car crash. Officers found Latham standing by his vehicle that had driven off the road into a ditch.

Latham said he had been drinking alcohol before driving and could not pass field sobriety tests. He was not injured and was taken into custody without incident.

He was processed at the Ledyard Police station and released on a $500 non-surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in New London court July 27.
