2 Hospitalized After Serious Crash On I-95 In Madison

The crash closed a portion of I-95 in Madison for several hours on Wednesday.

MADISON, CT — A Stratford woman was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash that temporarily shut down a portion of I-95 South in Madison for several hours on Wednesday.

The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. in the area of Exit 61 in Madison. A 2015 Buick Verano, a 2017 Ram Promaster 1500 and a 2021 Nissan Altima were involved in the crash, according to Connecticut State Police.

Police said the 77-year-old woman from Stratford, who was driving the Buick, was hospitalized with suspected serious injuries. The driver of the Nissan was also taken to the hospital with suspected minor injuries, according to police.

The driver of the Ram and a passenger were not injured in the crash, according to police.

All three vehicles needed to be towed from the scene, police said.

There was no immediate information provided on what caused the crash.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Connecticut State Police Troop F at 860-399-2100.
