All Madison Schools Expected To Be Open Tuesday: Officials
Two schools in Madison were closed Monday due to damage to a natural gas main.
MADISON, CT — All Madison schools are expected to be open Tuesday, after two were closed on Monday following damage over the weekend to a natural gas main, according to officials.
Ryerson Elementary and Brown Intermediate were both closed on Monday, after a fallen tree brought down power lines on nearby Overbrook Road in Madison, which caused damage to the gas main. All other schools in Madison were open on Monday.
"Sothern Connecticut Gas is currently onsite working on repairs," officials wrote in a statement. "Until repairs are complete, Overbrook Road is closed to through traffic (residents will still have access)."
