Hear costume experts Jean Druesedow and Claudia Iannuccilli on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 1:00 pm.

Press release

OLD SAYBROOK, CT - The Katharine Hepburn Museum presents a fascinating talk titled “From Screen to Seam: Preserving Kate’s Story” about the process of preparing textiles for exhibit by costume experts Jean Druesedow and Claudia Iannuccilli on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 1:00 pm.

Jean Druesedow, director emerita of the Kent State University Museum (KSUM), oversaw the acquisition of Miss Hepburn’s personal collection of thousands of garments for costumes and everyday wear in 2008. Jean curated the exhibition “Katharine Hepburn: Dressed for Stage and Screen” and compiled the book “Katharine Hepburn: Rebel Chic.”

Claudia Iannuccilli is an invaluable partner of the Katharine Hepburn Museum, executing conservation and preservation projects to maintain the costumes and clothing in our collection. She operates a private conservation studio in New England and works with institutions around the country, most recently at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art for the exhibit "Edith Head: Hollywood's Costume Designer." Learn about the behind-the-scenes work from these two fashion experts and how each of their work influenced the current "Here Comes the Bride" exhibit.
