Demonstration Of Proposed Bike & Pedestrian Road Improvements Scheduled In Madison

The Demonstration Project will be on Surf Club Road.

MADISON, CT — A demonstration has been scheduled in Madison for Wednesday and Thursday showcasing proposed improvements to pedestrian and bicycle safety along a segment of Surf Club Road, according to officials.

The town, in partnership with the South Central Regional Council of Governments, SLR, and VN Engineers, invites the public to view the Demonstration Project on Surf Club Road between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on both days.

"The improvements will include a separated on-road pedestrian path on the north side of the road, and shared roadway markings (sharrows) to encourage drivers to safely share the road with cyclists," wrote First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons in a recent Community Update.
