Flood Watch Issued In Madison & State

Forecasts call for severe weather throughout Connecticut on Tuesday.

MADISON, CT — Madison officials issued the following statement Tuesday about the severe weather heading toward the town and the state:

Flood Watches have been issued for the entire state beginning at 2:00 p.m. today, July 8, 2025, until early Wednesday morning.

A slow-moving frontal system combined with tropical moisture may trigger slow-moving thunderstorms with torrential downpours; some areas may experience 2-4”+ of rain depending on system movement.

Wet Microbursts are possible during the incoming thunderstorms, which could create wind gusts up to 60 mph.

As a reminder, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.

Additionally, a state-wide heat advisory is also in place today. Remember to hydrate and limit outdoor activity/sun exposure when possible.
