Madison Beach Hotel hosts its first plant-based culinary event on Thursday, June 2 as part of the resort’s popular Epicurean Series.
“Garden to Table” Vegan Epicurean Experience will feature Chef Chrissy Tracey, a self-taught freelance vegan chef, artist, forager, YouTuber, and entrepreneur in the food and wellness space.
“As our own chefs have created a number of delicious vegan dishes for The Wharf, we thought it time to showcase plant-based dining in our Epicurean Series,” said General Manager John Mathers. “We’re very proud to welcome Chef Chrissy to Madison Beach Hotel.”

Chef Chrissy is the first vegan chef to be featured on Bon Appetit’s Test Kitchen YouTube series. Her recipes have been featured in Epicurious, Farm Sanctuary Magazine, VegNews, and the Vegan Review. She has also been featured on the Bon Appetit ‘Food People’ podcast and on NPR’s ‘Seasoned.’
A first- generation Jamaican American, Chef Chrissy is one of seven children and learned to cook through family and friends. In 2020, Tracey was a Connecticut Magazine 40 Under 40 recipient for her work. She made a name for herself working as a vegan pizza chef in New Haven.
She is the chef owner of Chrissy’s, a Connecticut-based catering company that specializes “deceptively delicious plant based meats, with a wholistic approach to complete proteins and nutritional value.”
“It is my hope that I can use my mastery of cooking to educate and shift perspective of those skeptical about plant-based diets, and excite the tastebuds of vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike,” said Chef Chrissy.
As part of the experience, a vegan culinary class taught by Chef Chrissy will be offered on Friday, June 3 at 11:30 a.m. The class is $50 plus EventBrite Fees and may be purchased with the dinner or separately.
