Madison 2023 Election Voter Guide: Candidate, Polling Places

MADISON, CT — On Nov. 7, Madison residents cast their votes for several key municipal positions. Contested races include: the town council and school board.

Polls in Connecticut are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can use the Secretary of State’s website to find your polling place. Voters who are in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Connecticut also allows for Election Day registration at designated centers in each town. People must be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote using Election Day registration. To receive your absentee ballot, complete and sign an application and return it to your Town Clerk, or you can request an absentee ballot online.

First Selectman

The Democratic candidate is Peggy Lyons and the Republican candidate is Jennifer Gordon.

Board of Selectmen

For the board of selectmen, you'll vote for up to two people. Democratic candidates are: Scott Murphy and Al Goldberg, while Republican candidates include: Bruce A. Wilson, Jr. and Connor Favre.

Board of Finance

For the finance board, you'll vote for up to four people. Democratic candidates are: John Picard and Bob Donahue. Republican candidates include: Matthew Gordon, Gregory Scalzo III and John A. Rasimas.

Board of Education

For the school board, you'll vote for up to two candidates. Democratic candidates are: Seth Klaskin and Cathy Miller. Republican candidates include: Galey Cawley Jr. and Diane Infantine-Vyce.

Board of Assessment Appeals

The lone candidate is Bob Augusta, a Democrat.

Zoning Board of Appeals

You'll vote for up to three people. Democratic candidate is Bob Bischoff and the Republican candidates include: William Piggott and Dennis Crowe.
