A significant coastal storm will impact the state with strong damaging winds (50-60 MPH), moderate coastal flooding, heavy rain and even a wintry mix in the higher elevations. The winds are expected to increase around 3:00 p.m. Winds will be primarily out of the east at 20-35 mph. Peak wind gusts of 50-60 mph are possible.

Perhaps the greatest threat with this storm is the threat for a significant coastal flooding event by Thursday morning. Coastal flooding guidance suggests MODERATE coastal flooding is likely across most of coastal Connecticut with isolated MAJOR coastal flooding impacts possible. This storm will result in two (2) coastal flooding cycles. One tonight and a second more robust coastal flooding scenario early Thursday morning.
