Madison Public Schools Preps For The 2025-26 School Year

District officials remind residents of a big change this year.

MADISON, CT — With the 2025-26 school year beginning in Madison on Tuesday, officials offer the following reminders that the new Neck River Elementary School is open, as well as the transition of Brown to an Elementary School.

As such, here are a few traffic updates and reminders:

  • With the opening of Neck River Elementary School, the intersection at Green Hill and Mungertown Road will become a four-way stop. This change will commence the week of August 25, 2025.
  • Traffic delays along Mungertown Road are expected as residents adjust to the change in the traffic-pattern.
  • During the first week of school at Neck River (September 2-5, 2025), police will be present to assist with traffic during the morning and afternoon drop-off and pick-up.
  • Jeffery, Ryerson and TCLC are closed and will no longer function as active school buildings.
  • Normal school traffic is expected during drop-off and pick-up at all other schools.
  • Back to school means more kids walking, biking, and riding buses– plan extra travel time, obey posted school zone limits, and watch for children at intersections.
