Madison Public Schools To Revise Intermediate School Arts Plan: Report

Scheduling changes were planned as the district prepares for next year's opening of Neck River Elementary School.

MADISON, CT — Fourth and fifth graders at Madison's Brown Intermediate School will receive revised arts and language plans, after parents objected to proposed cuts to the programs, the Shoreline Times reported.

Schools Superintendent Craig Cooke, following feedback from parents, reportedly said that new plans will be posted on the district website by the end of the week, and will be discussed at Tuesday's Board of Education meeting.

The district was reportedly planning cuts in classroom time for theater, STEM, music and Spanish, before parents objected, as part of new scheduling initiatives for when the new Neck River Elementary School opens next year.
