Presentations Scheduled For Proposals To Redevelop Academy Building In Madison
The school was vacated by the Madison Board of Education in 2004 and turned over to the town seven years later.
MADISON, CT — The Madison Board of Selectmen will hear presentations next month from the four entities that have expressed interest in redeveloping the former Academy School building, according to First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons.
To hear the presentations, the board will hold two separate meetings in the first full week of January.
Information on the four proposals can be found here, in addition to minutes and video of the board's recent meeting.

The board received expressions of interest from the four in October. In May, voters rejected a plan for the building to become a community center, largely due to the project's rising costs, which were expected to exceed $24 million.
"Updates, including the finalized presentation details and any future meetings regarding the expressions of interest process and Academy’s future, will be posted on the town website as details become available," Lyons wrote in a statement.
