2 Displaced After Manchester House Fire

One firefighter was injured battling the blaze.

MANCHESTER, CT — Firefighters responded to a structure fire at 153 Highland St. at 1:03 p.m. Sunday, after a neighbor reported the blaze, the Manchester Fire Department announced.

Engine 4, stationed nearby, arrived in under a minute and launched an interior attack, quickly extinguishing the first-floor fire, officials said. Five fire companies operated at the scene.

The home was unoccupied, and all occupants were accounted for. Two displaced adults are receiving Red Cross assistance. One firefighter was hospitalized for a non-life-threatening injury. The Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
