The announcement that a Manchester business would be closing was made Wednesday.

MANCHESTER, CT — An axe-throwing venue in Manchester will be closing at the end of the month.
A social media post by Stumpy's Hatchet House Wednesday declared the news:
"It's with a heavy heart that we announce Stumpy's Hatchet House Manchester will be closing its doors for good on October 31st, 2025," the message said.

It continued:
"To our incredible community: The past few years have been filled with the satisfying 'THWACK' of axes, incredible parties, and so many unforgettable memories. You all have been amazing, and we can't thank you enough for making Stumpy's Manchester a truly special place to throw down.

"Before we close, we have to recognize the true heart of Stumpy's Manchester: our incredible staff. Our coaches and staff didn't just teach you how to throw axes; they brought the energy, kept everyone safe, and turned every single session into an unforgettable memory. We owe the biggest 'Thank You' to them for their dedication and passion. Please come show our team some love and appreciation during these final weeks!

Stumpy's emerged in 2016 as a chain of venues as the ax-throwing craze was taking shape. It now boasts m ore than 30 franchises nationwide.
