Deputy Mayor Moran Thanks Manchester

Jay Moran says it has been an "honor and a privilege" to serve as Manchester's Deputy Mayor for the past two years.

The following is a press release from Deputy Mayor Jay Moran, a Democrat seeking re-election on Nov. 4, 2013:

It’s been an honor and a privilege to serve on the Manchester Board of Directors the last four years and I am grateful to the have the opportunity to be running for re-election this November. I have enjoyed being your Deputy Mayor, working side by side in a leadership role with Mayor Leo V. Diana. We, the Board of Directors have governed in a civil and cooperative manner with our colleagues and with the citizens of Manchester, putting party bickering aside to accomplish what is best for everyone in our community.

This style of government was necessary in guiding the town through tough economic times. We have been able to maintain vital services and programs for our children, families, neighbors, and seniors. We will work tirelessly to make sure public safety, education, the welfare of our seniors, and economic growth remain a priority. As we continue to face difficult financial times, we must still listen and respect each other. In our town everyone’s voice counts. We all have a hand in the navigation of Manchester’s future!

As a candidate, I hope to have your vote so I can keep being your voice on what matters for Manchester. As a Board member and citizen, I also would be thrilled if you re-elect my good friend, Leo V. Diana as our Mayor!
