A real estate agent has been talking to me about a client of his that wants to buy a second home in Florida and wanted me to put together a pre-qualification letter without the information I needed to get it accomplished.

I requested that he have the client contact me, but gave him a list of what I needed. I told him, I wanted the client to get me the information and send it to me directly. Within an hour, he started sending me some of the information, which included sensitive information. I immediately emailed him and told him to get me the phone number or email for the client.

Within a few minutes, he sent me an email, that my services were no longer needed and thought that was the end of it, but not the case. I then got a call from the client, telling me that she fired the Realtor, as she felt very uncomfortable giving him as much information as he was asking for.

How crazy, she told me that once she fired the agent, he had told her I was in Manchester, Ct and my address and she figured out the rest. I shared with her what had transpired and sent her copies of the emails that went back and forth with the agent, she was upset, but I told her she should have objected immediately when he wanted the documents sent to him instead of me.

She was a delight to work with, handled the preapproval for her. I handled the Realtor referral for her as well. I have no idea how this agent contacted me in the first place, but he has burned this bridge for sure.
