MANCHESTER, CT — The Manchester Democrats are looking to fill a position for Board of Education on their ticket for this fall’s local election.

The seat is open because Beth Mix, who has served on the board since 2021, is not seeking re-election.

Anyone interested in running as a Democratic candidate for the Board of Education should contact Manchester Democratic Town Chairman Mike Pohl, at mikepohl1000@gmail.com and forward a resume to him by Friday, June 27.

The candidate for the seat will run for election this fall, but not take office until the fall of 2026. The election is for a three-year term.

"If you are interested in joining the effort to continue moving our school system forward so it best serves the needs of our young people, our parents, and our community, please contact me," Pohl said "We want to fill this spot on our ticket with a strong and committed candidate who will join our Board of Education team of Chairman Tracy Patterson, Secretary David Eisenthal, and members Chris Pattacini, Kwasi Ntem-Mensah, and Heather Doucette."

People interested in filling this spot on the ticket will be asked to meet with the Democratic Town Committee’s Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee will then make a recommendation to the full Town Committee.

Nominations will be finalized the evening of July 15.
