Town-Run Tests At Texas Roadhouse May Discolor Water Nearby
Residents may have reduced water pressure or discolored water for a few hours on Wednesday. Here's how the town recommends you handle it.

MANCHESTER, CT — Ahead of tests at the Manchester Texas Roadhouse next week, the town is advising homeowners to look out for reduced water pressure and/or discolored water for a few hours.
Manchester's Water and Sewer Division will conduct fire flow/hydraulic capacity tests at the restaurant (located at 21 Redstone Road) beginning at 10 a.m. on Feb. 16. The tests are designed to determine effects on the water distribution system.
Reduced water pressure and/or discoloration of water in nearby buildings is possible. Homeowners should try to avoid using water until the discoloration clears to prevent rust and sediment from entering their home's system, town officials said.

"If sediment does get into a home's hot water tank, the homeowner should wait until the water clears and then open the faucet at the bottom of the tank to drain the collected material, which will settle at the bottom," the town said in a news release.
If homeowners do a load of laundry while their water is discolored, the town suggests keeping the clothes wet and running them again after the water clears — and adding four ounces of cream of tartar to help clean any discoloration.
