Trees Removed From Munro Park to Make Way for New Ones
Old trees were removed from Munro Park and the town is in the process of planting new ones.

Noticed anything different at Munro Park lately?
A number of trees at the park at the intersection of East Center and Porter streets, which is home to several of the town's war monuments, were removed recently.
Public Works Director Mark Carlino said several white pines were removed at the park and are in the process of being replaced with a "number of various flowering trees," which he said has been deemed more appropriate for the memorials by the town and the local veteran committee.
Carlino said the trees were removed after the town posted a notice informing the public and there were no complaints. He said the new trees should be planted in the next several weeks.
The project also included some landscaping around the various memorials. Carlino said the project costs about $5,000, but was paid for through a grant from the Manchester Road Race Committee.
