Two Manchester Brothers Claim $255,555 Lottery Prize
One of the two brothers bought the winning ticket from Center Liquors on Center Street in Manchester.

Sushanto and Hemonto Palma, two brothers from Manchester, showed up at CT Lottery headquarters early this morning to claim the $2555,555 top prize for the April 11 “5 Card Cash” lottery game.
The brothers’ winning ticket was bought by Sushanto at Center Liquors, 509 Center St. in Manchester, CT Lottery officials anounced. For selling the ticket, the store will get a $2,500 check from the lottery.
“It’s always a happy moment when one of our customers wins a big lottery prize,” said Bishal Thapa, owner of Center Liquors, in the announcement. “Last October, we also sold a $100,000 [top prize winning] Cash5 ticket. We always wish all of our customers the best of luck!”

The store has been selling lottery tickets since July 2011.
The brothers’ winning ticket had a perfect match to the April 11 drawing of 5 Card Cash card symbols: 4C – 6C – 3H – 4S – JC (4 of Clubs, 6 of Clubs 3 of Hearts, 4 of Spades, Jack of Clubs).

Along with the brothers’ top prize, 304 tickets for that April 11 contained a match for prizes ranging from $20 to $555. A total of 16,904 tickets also had “Instant Win” prizes ranging from a $2 (free ticket) to $555. Since ticket sales began for 5 Card Cash, over 6.2 million winning tickets have been sold to date, including 13 top prize winning tickets for $255,555.

According to the announcement from CT Lottery: “The overall odds of winning any 5 Card Cash prize are 1 in 4.1. The Instant Win overall odds are 1 in 4.2. Daily Drawing overall odds are 1 in 235.3. The top Drawing prize is subject to split prize liability and may be lower than shown.”
