1 Rider Flees, Another Flown To Hospital After Moped, Motorcycles Collide In Eastern CT

WINDHAM, CT — Two motorcycle riders were taken to area hospitals Wednesday after a collision in Windham, state police said.

At 8:53 p.m. Wednesday, a KTM performance motorcycle and a Vitacci scooter were stationary along the side of Club Road, perpendicular to the road itself near the Route 14 intersection, according to a crash report.

A Suzuki sport bike came upon them heading north at a high rate of speed and began to skid as it approached a turn, according to a crash report. The Suzuki then hit the scooter and KTM and all three were ejected, according to a crash report.

The driver of the KTM, a 42-year-old Willimantic man, was taken to Windham Hospital via ambulance with serious injuries. The driver of the Suzuki, a 34-year-old Willimantic man, was taken to Hartford Hospital via Life Star helicopter with serious injuries.

The moped driver left the scene, state police said.
