2 Youths Hurt In Baseball Collision At UConn

Two participants in a youth camp at UConn were hurt in a baseball game collision, authorities said.

STORRS, CT — Two youths were hurt Sunday morning when they collided during a baseball game at The University of Connecticut's Elliott Field, authorities said.

The game was part of a camp that was taking place at Elliott, UConn spokeswoman Stephanie Reitz said. The camp was not affiliated with the university.

The UConn Fire Department responded and Life Star helicopter was initially was called as a precaution, but was canceled, Reitz said.

The injuries were not being described as life-threatening. One minor was taken by UConn ambulance to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford and the other was taken by Mansfield ambulance to Windham Hospital, authorities said.
