MANSFIELD, CT — Bad tires contributed to a bad scene on a major road in Mansfield last week, state police said.

According to a state police crash report, at 9:20 p.m. last Thursday, a 2015 Toyota Rav4 being driven by a 48-year-old Mansfield man was heading north on Route 195.

He attempted to make a U-turn on the edge of the road, but. because of "having no front tire tread," the SUV veered t the right and crashed into an embankment, according to a crash report.

The driver sustained a cut hand, state police said.
