COVENTRY, CT — A boat sank on Coventry Lake over the weekend.

The boat — a small runabout — was located mostly submerged on the on the lake in the Standish Road area Sunday, fire and EMS officials said.

Fire department units deployed 22 feet of booms to contain any fluids that may have leaked, officials said.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was scheduled to be at the scene Monday to oversee cleanup efforts, officials said.

No injuries were reported and the cause is being investigated. Police said the boat's owner was working on having it removed.
