CTfastrak Service Planned for Mansfield

The bus service would provide a direct link from Storrs to Hartford for UConn students.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is planning to expand transit service to northeast Connecticut that would include service from Hartford to South Windsor, Vernon, Tolland, Bolton, Coventry and Mansfield.

The goal is to implement service improvements during the summer of 2016. Those improvements will be announced in February, according to CTfastrak.

A second stage of the planning effort will identify physical roadway and bus stop improvements to create a bus rapid transit service using existing streets, park and ride lots and the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes. Other enhancements are expected to include fewer stops to decrease travel time and wi-fi service for riders.
