Fall 2021 Season Announcement from CRT
We are once again on the cusp of a fall season and every step of the way, the students' education and safety have been paramount.

Last summer, we could never imagine the Zoom theatre world ahead of us. We spent the summer of 2020 researching and preparing to bring theatre into your homes, to keep us connected during a time of unparalleled isolation. We dove headlong into our first virtual production, MEN ON BOATS; what an adventure! Throughout the 2020-2021 virtual season, we learned, grew, and evolved as Zoom theatre producers. We are so grateful for your participation, and support along the way. Our students knew you were there, felt your presence, appreciated seeing you at Opening Night toasts, and enjoyed the stimulating conversations during talkbacks. The students approached last year with an admirable amount of strength, grace, and resilience. Now we welcome the Dramatic Arts students back to our theatres and continue their training as theatre artists.
We are once again on the cusp of a fall season, and want you to be the first to know what is in store. Every step of the way, our students’ education and safety have been paramount. In the weeks ahead, we kick off the season with SHE KILLS MONSTERS, written by Qui Nguyen and performed outdoors in October exclusively for members of the UConn community. Following SHE KILLS MONSTERS will be THE 39 STEPS, written by Patrick Barlow and performed in our Studio Theatre in November for an extremely limited public audience. We will end the semester with FOOD FOR THE GODS, written and directed by Nehprii Amenii and presented in December to an extremely limited audience at the Nafe Katter Theatre while also available for streaming at home.
With health and human safety at the core of our fall planning, we hope to open our doors to a full capacity audience in the spring of 2022, but we hope that you join us in person or virtually this semester! If you are able to join us this fall, the following University safety precautions will be in place at all performances: 1) Masks covering the nose and mouth are required in all venues at all times, regardless of vaccination status, 2) Social distancing and hand hygiene protocols must observed, 3) Arrival times will be scheduled/staggered to limit lobby congestion, 4) Patrons will need to take their seat immediately upon arrival and exit the theatre immediately following the performance, 5) Patrons are encouraged to be vaccinated, 6) Patrons should call the box office regarding their purchase if they, or someone in their house, is sick, 7) No food or drink is allowed in the theatre, 8) Tickets must be purchased in advance and will be sent to patrons via e-mail (no walk up sales and no printed tickets).
