Hidden Gems Of Hartford And Tolland Counties

The latest Gem is a tree farm that even the Griswolds would like.

ANDOVER, CT —Whether your're the Griswolds in a sleek station wagon accentuated with genuine fake wood grain trim or an ordinary family in an SUV or a big old pickup truck, the quest for the perfect holiday tree is always and adventure.

A random drive down Route 6 this week came upon Scott's, a choose-and-cut Christmas Tree Farm in Andover tucked a bit off the road. The farm has a wide expanse of trees to pick out and hand saws are provided.

Scott's is traditionally open 7 days a week starting the day after thanksgiving until Dec. 24, from 9 a.m. until dusk.

It's a nice, as the Griswolds would say, "Christmas Vacation" getaway.

The farm's address is 11 Bunker Hill Road, Andover, CT, United States, Connecticut (860-742-9965).
