MANSFIELD, CT — Law enforcement and environmental investigators were back at the Mansfield Hollow Boat Launch Tuesday to investigate a case from earlier this month, authorities said.

State environmental officials at about 7 a.m. announced that the area was closed to the public.

State police them issued the following statement to Patch:

"Resources are continuing efforts to search for more evidence from an earlier investigation at the Mansfield Hollow Boat Launch area. There is no threat to the public at this time. We ask the public to allow investigators to conduct their work safely and without interference while they continue their search."

On Oct. 5 — a Sunday — a body was found in the water at Mansfield Hollow State Park, according to a previous report from the State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Connecticut State Police have been =investigating the discovery, with assistance from the DEEP's EnCon Police Department.
