POLAROID STORIES
Written by Naomi Iizuka
Directed by Jennifer Scapetis-Tycer
Featuring the Sophomore BFA Acting Students
This play is a classroom project created and performed by the BFA Acting Class of 2024. The project gives these young artists a challenging acting opportunity in a simple production setting.
Inspired by Ovid’s Metamorphoses and real life stories told by street kids, Naomi lizuka's Polaroid Stories journeys into a dangerous world where myth-making fulfills a fierce need for transcendence, where storytelling has the power to transform a reality in which characters' lives are continually threatened, devalued and effaced. This play includes strong language, and references to sex, drugs, and classical mythology.
