Man Who Lives In Van Charged In Mansfield Hit-And Run Involving The Van: State Police
State police said they have solved a hit-and-run case at a Mansfield restaurant.

MANSFIELD, CT — A man who lives in a van is in hot water with the cops for a hit-and-run incident at a restaurant in Mansfield involving the van, state police said.
Horatio Meyer, 62, of Mansfield, was arrested last week on a warrant issued on Sept. 17 by state police and the Willimantic probation office, according to a warrant. He was charged with registration, insurance and license violations, along with evading responsibility and and unsafe backing in connection with a crash at the Fenton River Grill on Storrs Road, according to a warrant.
According to a warrant, the transgressions occurred at the Fenton River Grill on Storrs Road when Mayer hit a vehicle parked at the establishment. A staff member who had just finished a shift found a note on a windshield that said, "We saw a white van hit your car."

The van was traced to Meyer, who lives in the vehicle, state police said in a warrant.
State police also said in a warrant they recognized the van as belonging to Meyer from his "extensive history" with the Mansfield Resident State Trooper's office.
