Mansfield Arrests Include Assault, Threatening

July 3

A vehicle was traveling westbound on Route 44 in Mansfield, stopped in traffic at the Route 195 intersection, when it was struck from behind by another vehicle, causing minor damage to both vehicles. The second vehicle then evaded the scene southbound on Route 195. It was located and subsequent investigation resulted n the arrest of the operator, Michael Scholsky, 54, of 111 Cooper St. in Manchester, for driving under the influence, evading, following too closely, and failure to carry an insurance card. He was processed without incident at Troop C and later released on a $2,000 non-surety bond. A passenger in the first vehicle, a 37-year-old Ashford woman, was transported by Mansfield Fire Department to Hartford Hospital for a possible injury.

July 4

On July 4 between 7 p.m. and 11:59 p.m., three vehicles were keyed in the Carriage House Apartments parking lot. Anyone with information is asked to please contact Trooper Strogoff at Troop C or the Mansfield Resident Troopers Office.

July 5

At approximately 3:28 p.m., members of the Connecticut State Police were dispatched to Hunting Lodge Road in Mansfield for the report of a domestic disturbance. After further investigation, two individuals were arrested. Charles Ausburger, 53, of 342 Hunting Lodge Rd., was charged with disorderly conduct and threatening. Caroline Enes, 49, of 336 Hunting Lodge Rd., was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assualt. Both were held on a $1,000 non-surety bond and were scheduled to appear before Rockville Superior Court on July 6.

July 7

Salena Lewis, 20, of 68 County Rd. in Eastford, entered Kohl’s department store, located in Mansfield, where she selected numerous items and stole said items. She was apprehended by loss prevention and turned over to the state police without incident. All property was recovered and Lewis was charged with sixth-degree larceny.

The operator of a motor vehicle involved in a one-car accident on Hanks Hill Road was subjected to a series of field sobriety tests, which she failed. Denise Freeman, 35, of 101 Stone Mill Rd., Apt. B in Mansfield, was taken into custody and charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and a stop sign violation. She is scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on July 23.
