MANSFIELD, CT — A Mansfield man was to appear in Rockville Superior Court Monday to face a first-degree sexual assault charge, state police said.

Joshua Dunphy, 29, of Mansfield, surrendered to authorities Sunday night via a warrant, state police said. In addition to the "use of force" sex assault charge, the warrant has charged him with reckless endangerment and unlawful restraint, both in the first degree, along with second-degree strangulation.

According to the warrant, the victim in the case, a 22-year-old woman, went to the state police Troop C barracks early Sunday morning to say she had been sexually assaulted 90 minutes earlier.
