Mansfield Named One Of The Best Places To Live In CT — Twice
Rankings website Niche.com just published its 2025 list of the "best places to live in Connecticut."

MANSFIELD, CT — Mansfield has been named one of the best places to live in the state of Connecticut twice over in an annual ranking compiled by Niche.com.
West Hartford was once again named the best place to live in Connecticut, in the latest set of rankings released by Niche on Monday.
Now in its 11th year, the ranking from the data-driven platform Niche is designed to help everyone from young people just starting their careers or families to retirees decide where they want to live. The report analyzes places of various sizes, including cities with populations of 100,000 or more, suburbs and neighborhoods.

"Mansfield Center" was ranked No. 20 with a reference to 988 people, most of which are homeowners, including many retirees. Niche says it has "a rural feel." Schools and housing received A grades with diversity getting a B- and nightlife a B. Crime was not ranked and family life received an A+.
Spot No. 66 went to "Mansfield," referencing a "dense suburban feel" and a population of 22,454. Housing received a peculiar C rating, perhaps a reference to off-campus University of Connecticut rentals. Meanwhile, schools and nightlife received A ratings, family life was rated A- and nightlife was given an A. Crime was not ranked.

The rankings are based on a wide range of public data sources, including the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, combined with millions of resident reviews.
Niche said Community attributes considered in developing the list included the health of the local housing market, neighborhood diversity, area public schools and walkability, among others. (More on methodology.)
