Mansfield, Storrs Students Go to the Head of the Class

Go to the Head of the Class recognizes the academic and athletic achievements of local students with information as supplied by the respective students' schools.

Earlier in the Spring Semester the Music Program at Eastern Connecticut State University presented the first concert held in Eastern's new state-of-the art Fine Arts Instructional Center (FAIC). Among the performers was Paula Cottle '17 of Storrs Mansfield, who sings in Eastern Concert Chorale. Cottle majors in General Studies.

Sarah Welden, a resident of Mansfield and Performance/Music Education major, was named to the Dean's List in Ithaca College's School of Music for the fall 2015 semester. She also graduated from Ithaca College's School of Music with a degree in Performance/Music Education. The degree was awarded in December 2015.

Elle Schaffhauser has been named to the Fall 2015 Dean's List at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. Elle is a Marketing major.

The Eastern Connecticut State University club hockey team recently claimed the title of American Conference champions of the Northeast Collegiate Hockey Association (NECHA) with a 4-2 victory over Southern New Hampshire University. The team finished with a regular season record of 11-1, the second best record in the 32-team NECHA. Among the players was William Gaspar '19 of Mansfield Center, who majors in Psychology.

Megan Lambert of Storrs Mansfield was named to the Emmanuel College Dean's List for the Fall 2015 semester.

William C. Moynihan of Storrs has been selected for inclusion on the Dean's List for academic achievement during the Fall 2015 semester at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. Moynihan is a member of the Class of 2016 and is majoring in geology. He attended Edwin O. Smith High School.

Goodwin College has announced that these local students achieved Dean's List status for the Fall 2015 session:

Storrs resident Amber Jacobsen has achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average at Goodwin College for the Fall 2015 session, earning a spot on the elite President's List.

Storrs resident Karina Larson was named to Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Fall 2015 Dean's List.

The State University of New York at New Paltz has announced that Brooke Prince-Warinsky, a resident of Storrs, has been named to the fall 2015 Dean's List.

Tufts University recently announced the dean's list for undergraduate students enrolled for the Fall 2015 semester includes Kennedy Bailey of Mansfield Center, class of 2019.
