In Memoriam: Raymond C. 'Bud' Campbell
The Storrs resident passed away Feb. 28 at the age of 86.

Raymond Charles “Bud” Campbell, 86, of Storrs, died on Sunday, February 28, 2016, surrounded by his family.
He was the son of Joseph C. and Mabel Flanagan Campbell of Central Falls, RI, where he was born December 21, 1929.
Bud was a graduate of Central Falls High School, and the University of Rhode Island. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 in the famous “Garryowen” 7th Cavalry Regiment, with whom he was stationed for a year on Japan. He was discharged in 1955 as a Sergeant First Class.
Bud had a long career in sales in the wire and cable industry, becoming the National Sales Manager of Willimantic’s Brand Rex Wire and Cable before founding his own Manufacturers Rep firm which he successfully ran for over 20 years.
In his retirement he proudly delivered Meals on Wheels to the homebound for many years.
He was predeceased by his brother Ted Campbell and his beloved daughter Beth Campbell Catanzaro.
Bud is survived by his wife Anne Marie Pallys Campbell; his son, Peter Campbell and his wife Sybille Maincent; and his grandchildren Mae and Pia Campbell.
He was passionate about all things Big Band, all things UConn Basketball, his dogs, but most importantly his friends and his family.
The family will receive friends and relatives Friday, March 4, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 5, at 10:30 a.m., St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel, 46 N. Eagleville Rd, Storrs, with burial to follow at Storrs Cemetery.
