Ribbon Cutting Event for Windham Hospital’s Food Pantry

Special ribbon cutting event for Windham Hospital's new Food Pantry and a tour of the hospital's 3,000 square foot hydroponic garden

Led by the Hartford HealthCare East Region Community Health team, the Windham Hospital Food Pantry was started as a way to help combat food insecurities for both hospital patients and members of the community. Items for the pantry are being collected by hospital staff and Hartford HealthCare colleagues from throughout eastern Connecticut.

The hydroponic garden, located in the lower lot near the hospital’s Valley Street entrance, is being used to grow produce to be distributed to hospital colleagues and members of the local community in need. The hydroponic system was built by Levo International who has partnered with Hartford HealthCare to build several similar gardens throughout the state.
