Road Work Underway On Busy Route In Eastern Connecticut
A traffic advisory has been issued for road work in eastern Connecticut.

WINDHAM, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced this week that milling, thin course pavement, drainage structure improvements, ADA accessible ramp improvements, and traffic signal improvements has begun on Route 6 in Windham and Chaplin.
Project 0170-3737 was awarded to Waters Construction Company, Inc. at a cost of $6,736,274 on March 16 and is scheduled to be completed Oct. 26.
The project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
There will be intermittent and nightly lane closures or daily alternating one-way traffic on Route 6 from Route 66 to just past Route 198 from Monday to Sunday between the evening hours of 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. or during the daytime hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Traffic control signing patterns as well as uniformed flaggers, municipal police and/or state police as needed will guide motorists through the work zone. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
