Saturday Festival In Willimantic To Benefit Flood-Ravaged Community

WILLIMANTIC, CT — The town of Windham and the Windham Regional Arts Council are sponsoring a special day of music and arts Saturday at the Shaboo Stage.

"Artists for Asheville" will benefit the Asheville, NC, River Arts District, which, in September of last year was devastated by flooding. More than 300 artists lost their studios and life's work, organizer Bruce John said.

The event is being staged Saturday from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Live bands will include Kerri Powers, the Bruce John Genre Jam and the Hugh Blumenfeld Trio. Artists booths wil also be featured.

The Shaboo Stage is located at Jillson Square Park, 533 Main St., Willimantic
