Speeding 20-Year-Old Facing 7 Charges After Mansfield Incident
State police said a reckless driver who tried to get away from them in Mansfield was tracked down via surveillance.

MANSFIELD, CT — A speeding 20-year-old driver wound up with seven charges after an incident in Mansfield Sunday, state police said.
According t0 an arrest report from the state police Troop C barracks, the incident took place at about 8 p.m. A trooper conducting a speed enforcement detail on South Eagleville Road encountered a black sport utility vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.
As the trooper tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver, a Westbrook resident, sped away from the cruiser in the direction of the University of Connecticut, according to an arrest report. He was illegally passing and ran a stop sign, state police said.

State police managed to get his plate number via surveillance images and he was eventually tracked down and arrested, according to an arrest report.

- Traveling unreasonably fast
- Reckless driving
- Disobeying the signal of an officer
- Improper passing
- A lane violation
- A stop sign violation
- Second-degree reckless endangerment
The driver posted a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 22, records show.
