WILLINGTON, CT - A man who was arrested by state police in December on 10 felony counts of inappropriate sexual contact with a girl under the age of 10 was charged again Wednesday in connection with another incident involving a second child.
Both alleged victims are now 18 and 20 respectively, and the abuse claims date back more than a decade.
Albert Deschene, 69, of Willington was charged with a single count of risk of injury to a child. Bond on the new charge was set at $100,000.
Deschene has been free since posting $350,000 bond stemming from his Dec. 18, 2015 arrest on four counts of first-degree sexual assault on a victim under 10 years of age, six counts of illegal sexual contact with a victim under age 13 and two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault of a victim under 15 years old.
An affidavit by Det. Scott Crevier of Troop C in Tolland outlines the accusations against Deschene, which date back to 2001.
In July 2015, a 20-year-old female (herein referred to as Victim #1) told police Deschene began sexually abusing her in 2001, when she was about six years old. She contends the abuse involved various sex acts, but most frequently consisted of Deschene putting his fingers inside her anus and forcing her to masturbate him.
She told detectives she sustained the abuse “almost every weeknight” until she was 10, when her family moved out of state.
“If I had to put a number on how many times this occurred, I would have to say it is well into the hundreds and quite possibly the thousands,” Victim #1 said in the affidavit.
Last summer, a second female (herein referred to as Victim #2) told police she had also been molested by Deschene around 2007, when she was eight or nine years old.
Victim #2 told police Deschene “touched and rubbed her breasts while making moaning sounds.”
Det. Crevier wrote, “A few times [Victim #2 said] she woke up in Albert and his wife’s bed with no pants on, and she could not remember falling asleep or how her pants came off.”
Both females said Deschene drank frequently. “I do recall Albert being mean, especially when he drank,” Victim #2 stated.
In several interviews with police, Deschene admitted he would often drink “cheap whiskey with ginger ale,” but claimed Victim #1 was the perpetrator of any sexual contact.
He told detectives there were several occasions when Victim #1 came into his room while he was napping, and “when I woke up, [Victim #1] had her hand on my penis.”
Deschene also said one time he awoke to find Victim #1 in his bed “with no underwear on,” Crevier wrote.
Deschene is scheduled to return to court March 18.
