Surveillance Images Depict Violent Eastern Connecticut Bank Robbery
State police have released images of an armed robbery in eastern Connecticut.

EASTERN CONNECTICUT — State police have released graphic images of a violent eastern Connecticut bank robbery in an effort to locate and arrest the bandit.
The case dates back to May 1. At 12:38 p.m. that day, troopers responded to the Hometown Bank at 835 Riverside Drive in Thompson after a panic hold-up alarm went off, according to an incident report. When they arrived, troopers were told that an armed robber had just fled the area, according to an incident report.
The bandit was described by state police as a "light-skinned male" in his 30s, standing about 5-foot-10 with an average build and medium brown eyes, wearing a black face covering, a black Columbia zip-up style sweatshirt with a lime green zipper, black fingerless gloves, black pants and black shoes.

The man displayed a black handgun and demanded money from a bank employee and left the bank with $3,250, according to an incident report. The getaway car is being described as a "smaller black SUV," possibly a Ford Edge, with Massachusetts plates that was parked at the Town Hall building, according to an incident report.
The vehicle was last seen traveling north on Route 12 toward Massachusetts, state police said.
