UConn Men's Basketball Team Wins Back-To-Back National Championships
This is now the sixth championship for the University of Connecticut men's basketball team.

The University of Connecticut men's basketball team is now back-to-back champions after defeating the Purdue Boilermakers Monday night during the championship game held in Glendale, Arizona.
UConn won 75 to 60 over Purdue.
UConn led at the half by a score of 36-30. Tristen Newton led UConn in scoring at the half with 11 points, while Donovan Clingan, Cam Spencer and Hassan Diarra each had seven points.

Newton ended the game with 20 points, while Stephon Castle had 15 points. Spencer and Clingan scored 11 points each.
UConn advanced to the championship game by defeating Alabama 86-72 on Saturday night. Along the way they also defeated Illinois, San Diego State, Northwestern, and Stetson.

UConn has now won six championships with Jim Calhoun coaching three of them, followed by Dan Hurley with two and Kevin Ollie had one victory.
Gov. Ned Lamont and Gov. Eric J. Holcomb of Indiana placed a friendly wager on the outcome of tonight’s NCAA men’s basketball tournament championship game.
Lamont bet a case of beer from Athletic Brewing Company, a box of chocolates from Munson’s Chocolates, and a New Haven-style pizza from Sally’s Apizza that the UConn Huskies will claim victory.
Holcomb wagered Triple XXX root beer, sugar cream pie from Wick’s, and a pork tenderloin from Harry’s Chocolate Shop that the Purdue Boilermakers will take the title.
