UConn Police Begin Using Body Cameras
There are seven officers participating in a test period for the camera, according to a report.

Seven University of Connecticut Police Department officers are participating in the trial use of body cameras.
Six of the officers are assigned to Storrs and one is at the UConn School of Law, according to The DailyCampus.com.
The test is part of a pilot program, and the department anticipates that all officers will be equipped with the cameras, according to the report.
Last year the state legislature approved a state law requiring the use of body cameras by July 1.
UConn Police Chief Barbara O’Connor said in a statement, “Body cameras will augment our current program of in-car cameras and we look forward to implementing this technology,” according to The DailyCampus.com report that can be found here.
